Firefighters put out a fire in three cornfields yesterday


About 50 firefighters tackled a blaze in three cornfields in Gravesend yesterday (Sunday).

The fire, off Westcott Avenue, Northfleet, started just before 2pm.

Crews surrounded the fire and used main jets, hose reel jets and beaters to extinguish it.

The fire was extinguished by 3.20pm.
