A film project to document the memories and lives of people past and present from Northcourt estate was launched on Monday.

The Heritage Lottery-funded project includes interviews with people brought up on the estate which was built in 1938.

It was created to mark the fifth anniversary of the Riverside Community Resource Trust with runs the Riverside Centre, formally Northcourt Primary School.

Along with the film, the social history project included a drama workshop by local charity Walk Tall, arts and creative writing classes and an educational pack for schools.

Local historian and ex-pupil of Northcourt Primary School Christoph Bull narrates the video, which is available to view on youtube via the Riverside Centre’s channel (theriversidecentre).

A special event to unveil the film was held where the Mayor of Gravesham Lyn Milner joined guests for a tour of the facilities.
