Four fire engines and a height vehicle have been sent to the scene of a fire involving a terraced house in Ames Road, Swanscombe.

Upon arrival, fire crews found smoke and flames issuing from doors and windows on both floors of the property.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze using main jets, while a height vehicle was used to provide an observation platform and help prevent the fire spreading to neighbouring properties.

One woman was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital.

Kent Police are in attendance and the cause is thought to be suspicious.
