Crews were called just before 4.30am

Firefighters tackled a blaze which tore through a Greenhithe home this morning

The fire had managed to break a window, which provided air to vent the flames.

Crews were called to the unoccupied house on London Road just before 4.30am, and initally tackled the flames from outside detached property.

Once they were able to get inside, crews managed to extinguish the fire, which damaged about 30 per cent of the house.

Crews left the scene at around 6.15am.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
