Former Dartford Grammar School student Adam Gemili has missed out on a place in Britain's World Championships 100m team - but he will be there in the longer sprint distance.

The world junior champion was pipped to the third spot by Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, with the first two slots taken up by James Dasaolu and Dwain Chambers.

Aikines-Aryeetey finished second to Chambers at the Sainsbury’s British Championships on Saturday in an ‘A’ standard qualifying time of 10.08 seconds, while Gemili failed to get the standard in winning gold at the European Under-23 Championships in Finland.

Gemili will be joined in the 200m by James Ellington and Delano Williams.

The championships take place in Moscow from August 10 to 18.
