A convicted thief who authorised refunds for herself at the shop she worked in has been ordered to pay back the money she stole.

Erika Martins, 21, of Crown Woods Way, Eltham, pleaded guilty to theft on April 16 at Maidstone Crown Court, where she was jailed for 10 months.

Martins was employed as a cashier at the Hollister store in Bluewater and from July 2012 she had been conducting cash refunds to herself.

A confiscation hearing deemed Martins benefitted from £63,584, and £59,830.10 made up of seized cash in her bank account was awarded to Hollister as compensation.
