The small arable and fruit farm is just down the road from the school, and the Year 1 and 2 pupils were given a tour by farmer Bill Warnett.

They learnt about how fruit trees were planted and grown, and when fruit is ripe and ready to pick and eat.

Mike Patey, the Year 2 teacher, said: “Our children loved visiting Mr Warnett’s farm and gained firsthand experience of the value of eating fresh food and discovering where it comes from.”
