Mayfield Garmmar School pupils enjoyed GCSE success


96.5 per cent of students achieved 5A* to C grades including English and mathematics

PUPILS at Gravesend’s Mayfield Grammar School are celebrating GCSE success.

Some 96.5 per cent of the Pelham Road school’s students achieved 5A* to C grades including English and mathematics at GCSE.

Headteacher Elain Wilson said: “We are extremely proud that 13.68 per cent of all entries were at the coveted A* grade with 38.41 per cent of results being A*-A. This is testament to all the hard work of our students and their teachers.”

Among the students with exceptional results were Laura Taylor (9A*, 3A), Leanne Mays (9A*, 3A), Yasmin Cheema (8A*, 3A), Emma Challis (5A*, 7A), Rachel Basten (5A*, 6A), Amrit Marok (9A*, 2A, 1B), Natalie Smith (8A*, 2A), Victoria Sims (6A*, 4A, 1B), Esther Shelton (6A*, 4A, 1B), Georgia Maloney (7A*, 2A, 1B, 1C), Kerry Bolland (7A*, 2A, 2B), Mollie Burr (8A*, 1A, 1B), Shradha Badiani (6A*, 3A, 2B, 1C), Kelsey Barham (5A*, 4A), Zaynab Aslam (5A*, 2A, 2B), Lana Ballantyne (5A*, 2A, 2B) and Rosie Flood (4A*, 2A, 4B, 1C).

She added; “We would like to congratulate our students on their results and look forward to teaching them in the sixth form.”
