The academy will launch in time for the 2017/2018 season

The development of young footballing talent has received a boost with the launch of a new academy.

From September next year, North Kent College will open its own all-girls football academy.

The Girls Academy will have taster days for keen footballers, with the first landing on January 26.

Trial dates to join the academy will start from February 17 for the 2017/2018 season.

Crystal Palace and Northern Ireland player Ciara Sherwood will help guide the scheme to make sure it provides an opportunity to female players of all abilities.
