A FATHER has been found dead on a grass verge alongside a busy commuter road.

Graham Coulson, 42, a father-of-six of Shepherd Street, Northfleet, was found by two contractors next to the Northfleet National Grid sub station near to the Pepper Hill A2 slip-road at around 9:30am last Wednesday.

Police and Network Rail workers cordoned off the area and a group of officers searched for evidence. Mr Coulson's family say he had been missing since Friday, July 17.

His daughter, Charlotte Geer, 21, a full-time mother, also of Shepherd Street, said: "We don't know how to feel. Obviously we are very upset. He has got a grandson who isn't even three-years-old yet."

A post-mortem was inconclusive, the family said.

Police launched an investigation but said the death is not being treated as suspicious and that they are not looking for anyone in connection with it.
