For 25 years sheer wheel-power has seen a whopping £440,000 raised for good causes.
Now organisers hope this year's annual 'On Your Bike' ride will be the best yet as they celebrate the quarter century milestone for the event due to take place on Sunday.
Hundreds have already signed up for Gravesend Rotary Club’s flagship event but they are geared up for others to turn up on the day and take part.
They will set off from Gravesend Promenade, in Gravesend, staggered from 8.45am.
Club President Simon Lancaster said: “It is great to be saying that this is the 25th charity ride. It would be fantastic if we could also say that we had a thousand riders take part. Last year we welcomed over 900!”
Cyclists come from all over the south east and even Europe take part in the event that has grown to have three routes – 15, 30 and 45 miles - to cater for families through to serious riders.
Those who registered before August 31 are entered in to a draw to win a cycle donated by Tri-the-Bike Shop of Windmill Street, Gravesend.
