Stiltwalkers, horses and pipers are just some of the acts lined up for a full day of events leading up to the Gravesend Christmas lights being switched on.

Kicking off at 9.30am on Saturday (17), a vintage car will take Father Christmas around the one-way system while food stalls will set up along New Road in the town centre, before depositing Santa at the St George’s centre grotto.

In the afternoon, at around 4.30pm a pipe band, stiltwalkers, horses and members of the community will lead a parade from St George’s Shopping Centre up to where the High Street meets Windmill Street for the lights to be turned on at 4.57pm, precisely.
