Staff, customers and suppliers of Gravesend groundwork and civil engineering materials company Rudridge played in a seven-a-side football tournament on May 23 at West Ham United.

The event was hosted by former West Ham, Everton and England player Tony Cottee and each team was joined by a former professional player.

Alan Betteridge, Rudridge Managing Director, said: “This was the seventh annual Rudridge seven-a-side football tournament organised as a thank you to our suppliers and as an opportunity for all to socialise. It was a great success, with some superb games played throughout the afternoon.

“It was our fourth appearance at the fantastic Upton Park too and what a privilege that was as ever. Many of our guests came up to me on the day, to thank me and say they never thought they’d get the opportunity to play on a pitch that so many legends have graced.’

Tony Cottee added: “It was a pleasure to host this annual event for my friends and colleagues at Rudridge. The event had such a superb atmosphere and was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to have a good laugh and a welcome break from hectic work schedules.

“On behalf of Rudridge, I would like to thank all teams who took part on the day and also thank our footballing legends for making it that little bit more memorable.”
