Gravesend families have the chance to get fit in the new year by embarking on a 10-week programme to help them run a mile.

Qualified fitness instructors and nutritionists from the Gr@nd healthy living centre in King Street, the Revitalize health and fitness clinic in Windmill Street and the Cygnet leisure centre in Old Perry Street, are joining forces to run the programme.

The adults’ course starts at Cygnet on January 13 and will run every Monday from 10am to 11am.

The family course is every Thursday starting from January 16 at Northfleet youth centre in Hall Road, from 6pm to 7pm.

The courses are aimed at families and adults that take part in little or no physical activity.

For more information and to book a space on one of the 10 week courses please contact the healthy weight team at the Gr@nd on 01474 320123 or email
