The person was handed into the care of police

Gravesend’s RNLI lifeboat crew were called out in the early hours of Sunday morning to save a person stranded in the river at Morrison’s jetty, Erith.

The RNLI B-827 Olive Laura Deare II lifeboat launched just after 4am.

On arrival, the person was found clinging to a ladder in the river, when the three-man lifeboat crew managed to get the casualty on board.

They then took the casualty to Erith causeway and handed them into the care of the police.
