The day is marked to remember the fallen from the Gallipoli campaign
Members of the Gravesend Merchant Navy Association joined Prince Andrew this week as part of the annual Anzac day service.
The annual remembrance event on April 25 honours the thousands of Australian, New Zealand, British and Turkish troops who died in the First World War Gallipoli campaign.
Ambassadors from Australia, New Zealand and Turkey spoke at a service at Westminster Abbey, while wreaths were laid on the tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Doreen Dillon, secretary at the association, said: “The service was very moving and all enjoyed the readings and hymns. Deputy Lieutenant Rosemary Dymond joined the group this year and the event was rounded off with a meal at the Lord Moon of the Mall.”
