A Gravesend mum is opening a new play cafe by the clocktower on Friday.

Ellie Whittaker’s Clocktower Kids Cafe opens every day but Mondays and is holding a special Halloween-themed launch event on Saturday, October 26.

Ellie said: “After having my daughter I realised the challenges that parents face trying to take their babies and young children into cafés and restaurants due to the lack of space for buggies and constant worry that your child may be too loud and disruptive.

“I wanted to create a place for parents to come for a nice coffee, where their children could play with traditional toys and activities while parents could get their well-earned catch up with friends.

“Gravesend could really do with something like this and the response prior to opening has been fantastic.”

It will also be raising money for the Stacey Mowle appeal, visit for more details.
