A Gravesend man accused of murder missed a court appearance after he allegedly refused to get on the bus from prison.

Eddie Ives, 29, of no fixed address but from the Gravesend area, was due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday charged with killing Ben Mahoney in a Dartford takeaway restaurant.

Ives will now go before the court on Thursday morning (June 20) after the judge agreed to postpone the hearing.

Mr Mahoney, 30, of St Martin’s Road, Dartford, died after an altercation in The House on the Hill in East Hill on April 12.

Ives was arrested shortly after the incident at 11.30pm and a post-mortem examination revealed Mr Mahoney died from injuries suffered to his head.

The defendant is yet to enter a plea.
