They are notoriously difficult to grow but beautiful all the same. Now Orchid lovers can attend a special festival dedicated the to exotic flower in Gravesend and learn top tips on how to nurture their beloved plant.

Millbrook Garden Centre in Station Road, Southfleet, is hosting the event from Saturday, September 21 until Friday, September 27 during normal opening hours.

Peter White, chairman of both The British Orchid Growers Association and The Phalaenopsis Alliance UK Branch, will give a free talk about the flowers in the plant area at 11am and 2.30pm on Sunday, September 22.

Visitors will be able to ask any questions they may have and they are welcome to bring along their own orchids for an MOT.

Garden centre manager Matthew Upton, said: “This is the perfect opportunity for people to come along and learn about the exotic flowers. Come and be inspired by our fantastic orchid displays of different varieties.”
