Locals took part in a pancake race

Gravesend’s town centre drew crowds together for the biggest flipping event of the year today (Tuesday).

The town’s annual pancake race was held, in partnership with the British Heart Foundation, NRG Gym and healthy living centre, The Gr@nd.

The race, held at around midday, saw a 150 yard sprint from runners, as they simultaneously tossed their pancakes in frying pans.

With each pancake runner contributing a minimum of £3, or £10 for a team of four, the British Heart Foundation is set to receive a decent donation from the day.

In the end it was NRG Gym who battered the competition and one this year’s pancake race.
