Gravesend has been named the fifth best commuter town for London’s workers this year.

New research by TotallyMoney suggests that areas in Kent rank highly for commuter hotspots, after examining 116 of London’s most popular commuter towns.

After analysing journey time, average house price, season ticket cost and life satisfaction, the towns were ranked, with Gravesend coming fifth, behind Purfleet, Waltham Cross, Cheshunt and Erith.

With a journey time into London of 24 minutes, average house price of £308,797, season ticket price of £3,508 and satisfaction ratings of 7.76, the town is considered one of the best for commuting to the capital.

Swanley also made the list, taking the ninth position.

Although Gravesend and Swanley have cheaper average house prices than the Hertfordshire towns, their season tickets are significantly more expensive, pushing them lower down the rankings.
