Thrifty teenager gets £1,230

A TEENAGE girl from Gravesend has won more than £1,000 to take her family on holiday for the first time in ten years.

Bronte Davis, 16, won a £1,230 boost to her savings in a competition run by Santander.

To enter, she had to give her reasons for saving and come up with a savings tip.

She said: “I’m thrilled I have won this competition.

“All the takeaways and clothes I’ve gone without, and the time I’ve spent tutoring children and cleaning houses, is all worthwhile now my family and I can go on holiday for the first time in 10 years.”

Helen Bierton, head of savings at Santander, added: “We liked Bronte’s entry because she helps others with her tutoring.”
