Gravesend’s Kings Farm estate targeted by arsonists

PUBLISHED: 14:47 01 April 2011

Arsonists are thought to have started fires in houses awaiting demolition and a nearby garage.

Police are appealing for information following two blazes in unoccupied houses in Ferguson Avenue, on the Kings Farm estate, Gravesend, on Thursday, at about 9.30pm. Both were awaiting demolition, however, severe damage was caused by the flames.

A third fire in a garage in nearby Poplar Avenue was extinguished at about the same time.

Kent Police and Kent Fire and Rescue Service have carried out a detailed examination of all three scenes and launched a joint investigation. It is unclear at this time if the garage fire is linked to the other two house fires.

If you were in the area at the time of the fire and have information call Detective Inspector Ian Dampier on 01474 366098 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
