Gravesend’s X Factor Tamera Foster crusied through the second live show with flying colours.

The teenager belted out Beneath Your Beautiful by Labrinth and Emeli Sande on Saturday and the judges were quick to praise the performance afterwards.

Take That’s Gary Barlow said: “For the first time the public are going to see what we’ve all seen as judges - a superstar in the making.”

Her mentor Nicole Scherzinger was equally impressed: “It was gorgeous, so controlled.”

Tamera said on Twitter afterwards: “Big thank you to everyone that voted tonight I really appreciate it.”

The 16-year-old North West Kent College student erupted with joy when it was confirmed she had survived taking part in the sing-off and she is still the bookmakers favourite.

She is 7/4 with Ladbrokes and 13/8 with bet365.

Despite some people thinking Make Your Beautiful was a risky song choice, judge Sharon Osbourne said: “Do everything Nicole tells you because that song was absolutely perfect for you.”

Shelley Smith was the second contestant to be booted off the live shows after losing a sing-off with aspiring boy band Kingsland Road.
