A group of 12-year-olds from a Gravesend school finished second in an architecture competition across the London region.

Students from St George’s CoE School in Meadow Road had to design a community sports venue with the help of an industry professional.

The team came up with a skatepark that incorporated a hotel and dry ski slope that solved the issue of uninspiring layouts.

The young engineers travelled up to London to the offices of design giants Arup to collect their award.
