Gravesend scores high in ‘infidelity index’, according to dating website

More than 780 people from Gravesend are having an affair, according to statistics by a dating website.

The Infidelity Index, compiled by Illicit Encounters, puts Gravesend sixth out of 140 towns in the country.

Statistics say 1.41 per cent - or 784 people - of the Kent town’s population are playing away from home.

Towns with a population of more than 50,000 people are ranked in the index.

Maidenhead, in Kent, has claimed the title of the most illicit town in Britain with 2 per cent of the population cheating, with Bournemouth, Dorset, being declared most faithful.

Website Illicit Encounters claims to be “the largest dating service for married people”, with close to a million members.

“We have already had thousands of people visiting the website looking to see where their home town ranks compared with their friends.”
