Administrators for the fashion and hardware chain which opened on the site of the former Woolworths store a year ago are seeking a buyer in a bid to save it from collapse.

Life and Style took over Gravesend’s biggest town centre shopping unit after the flagship company collapsed in December 2008. It is not yet clear if the shop on the corner of High Street and Kings Street is among several stores set to close within weeks.

Joint administrator Simon Bonney said: “Life & Style has been brought to this situation through poor trading. We are currently looking at all aspects of the business, but with the exception of closures that the business had planned before it was put into administration, stores will remain open for the immediate future.”

Offers are being sought for the business and assets and all enquiries and expressions of interest should be directed to 0845 371 0890.
