Businesses from across Gravesend’s town centre are preparing for Macmillan’s annual coffee morning fundraiser on September 25.
This year is the first time the town centre has promoted the event, raising money for cancer support services.
Businesses will each be running their own events in the town centre, including one company running a ‘Great British Bake Off’ inspired fundraiser.
Michael Sears, Managing Director of Sealeys Estate Agents said: “Many of our staff have supported a family member during their fight against cancer and have seen first-hand the amazing work of Macmillan Cancer Support.
“I anticipate the baking will get quite competitive! Please come along and show your support from 10am and enjoy coffee and what should be some very nice cakes!”
Sharon from Priscilla’s Pantry explained why the fundraiser was so important: “Macmillan Cancer support is a charity extremely close to my heart and one that we try to support as much as we can.
“It’s great to see the town centre taking a bigger part in this year’s event and we hope we can raise as much as possible on the day.”
Since starting the annual coffee morning, Macmillan has raised over £138million with £25m coming in last year nationwide.
Further details will be posted around the town centre and on Gravesend town centre’s twitter page.
