The 22-year-old man arrested on suspicion of starting the huge fire which engulfed a Gravesend tyre yard will face no further action.

Huge plumes of smoke coming from the industrial estate in Canal Road could be seen for miles

The blaze on August 31 could be seen as far away as Southend in Essex, as could passengers in planes flying in and out of London.

Kent Fire and Rescue tackled it for 10 hours, with more than 70 firefighters and 12 engines on the scene.

Kent Police said the man had been released from bail without charge.
