Gravesham annual pancake races to be held in New Road

PUBLISHED: 07:00 17 January 2018

Shops and businesses are invited to go ‘flipping crazy’ on Tuesday, February 13, for the council’s annual pancake races.

An annual tradition, the races will be held in New Road, with a prize up for grabs for the wining team.

Heats will take place at 12pm and 12.30pm on Shrove Tuesday, allowing people to take part in their lunch hours.

Graham Long, Gravesend Town Centre Manager, said: “Come down and join us for this fun, free event.

It’s a chance to see and support your favourite shops and businesses having a laugh, some fun and a flipping good time.”

The sixth annual Pancake Day races are being held in conjunction with the British Heart Foundation, and supported by McDonalds Gravesend.

The Mayor of Gravesham, Cllr Harold Craske, will be adjudicating and presenting the trophies, which this year have again been kindly donated by Gravesham Trophy Centre.
