Here are the latest updates on the waste and recycling services in Gravesham which have been affected by the adverse weather.

Yesterday (Thursday 1 March), crews were out collecting as many of Thursday’s collections as possible.

They have been focusing on the main roads that have been gritted but the service was suspended earlier due to the poor conditions.

If your bin was due to be collected this week on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday please refer to page on when your bin will now be emptied.

For March 5 to March 9 only, additional rubbish will be collected as long as it’s in a black sack and placed next to your general waste bin on your collection day.

The garden waste service has been suspended and the council are asking for garden bins to be put out on your next scheduled collection day.

Special collections, such as bulky and metal and fridge collections have been cancelled, but all customers have been notified and collections have been rescheduled.

Collections for Friday March 2 will be made if safe to do so, and the council are advising residents to put bins out and then if it isn’t able to be collected to revert to the information on their website –
