Pupils at a Greenhithe school raised almost £500 for Children in Need last week, as Pudsey paid them a visit.

The charity mascot was mobbed by excited school children and parents at Stone St Mary’s Church of England Primary School, in Hayes Road, on Friday.

Students and staff were encouraged to wear pyjamas, or an item of spotty clothing, and donate generously to the cause.

Jayne Sejfullahu, deputy head, said: “Pudsey came to our morning breakfast club and then popped outside to see everyone.

“It was a really good day, and everyone had lots of fun - especially the children.”

The £470 raised to date by the school goes towards the total of £31,124,896 raised by the charity nationwide.
