Greenhithe teen charged with Dartford taxi driver assault

A Greenhithe teenager has been charged with assaulting a taxi driver in Dartford.

The 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will appear at Dartford Magistrates’ Court on September 10.

Kent Police were called at 5.40am on August 17 to reports the driver had taken a fare from Hythe Street to Summerhill Road.

When he asked for the fare, he was assaulted and suffered injuries to his face, hands, shins and knees. He also required hospital treatment for a fractured eye socket.

He has been charged with common assault and bailed.
