A CONTROVERSIAL application to rebuild some sheltered housing to nearly double in size has gone before the council.

The proposal to demolish the 36-bedroom Wimborne House on Taunton Vale, Gravesend, was due to be heard yesterday.

Neighbours have collected 100 signatures against the plan for a petition

Councillors deferred the decision in April and planning officers have recommended further deferral to consider the loss of an acre of green public space and to ensure access issues are resolved with applicants, Sanctuary Housing.
