The consultation is asking for responses to a potential crossing east of Gravesend

There are just hours left for locals to respond to a consultation on a crossing east of Gravesend.

The Lower Thames Crossing option C debate has been raging on for eight weeks, but tonight it will draw to a close.

Highways England claims it has already received nearly 30,000 responses from people with their views on a proposed bored tunnel crossing the Thames.

Around 13,000 people attended public information events in Essex, Kent and south east London.

The consultation closes at 11.45pm tonight (March 24).
