London driver dies after four-car crash in Eynsford

The crash happened on Thursday morning

A driver involved in a serious crash in Eynsford this morning has died.

Four cars were involved in the crash along the A225 near Eynsford, which happened at around 7am on Thursday.

A second man has been rushed to a London hospital with serious injuries.

Following a call at 7.07am, police and paramedics were called to Shoreham Road between Eynsford and Otford, where they discovered the pile-up involving a gold Citroen Saxo, a silver Honda, a grey Toyota Hi-Lux and a blue Vauxhall Corsa.

A London man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three ambulances were sent to Shoreham Road and a man in his 30s, also from the London area, was rushed to a London hospital with serious injuries.

A Secamb spokesperson confirmed he was being treated at King’s College Hospital.

A spokesperson from Kent Police said: “Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses who saw the collision or may have seen the vehicles prior to the collision to get in contact.

“Witnesses or anybody with dashcam footage can call the appeal line on 01622 798538 quoting reference 16-0141.

The road remains closed and drivers are advised to seek alternative routes.
