POLICE have released images of two people they are looking for after an elderly woman’s handbag was stolen in Poundland in Gravesend.

The woman, in her 70s, was in the store in the Thamesgate Shopping Centre just before 3pm on Saturday, June 27 when a man in his 50s spoke to her.

When she got to the till she noticed her handbag had gone. Police think the man distracted her while a woman stole her bag.

Anyone who saw what happened, or recognises the man in the CCTV image, should call PC Reggie Dix on 01474 366213, quoting crime reference XY/022044/15.
