Prince William and Kate Middleton's baby boy was not the only newborn to enter the world yesterday (July 22).
He was joined by 17 new arrivals at Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford - 10 boys and seven girls.
The closest to the Duchess of Cornwall’s delivery time of 4.24pm was a baby boy born just over an hour later at 5.46pm. The first arrival of the day was Emily Cupples, who was born at 5.31am, before Kate had arrived at Queen Mary’s Hospital in London to give birth.
Weighing a healthy 10lb 1oz, her Swanscombe parents Siobhan and Anthony were delighted to welcome her into the world. She was the heaviest baby born at the hospital on the same day as the royal baby.
Joseph Barry, born at 9.19am and weighing in at 8lb 4oz, was also born at Darent Valley Hospital on Monday.
He is the third child for Gravesend parents to Roseanne and John and is a new brother for Neil and Katie.
A Darent Valley Hospital spokeman said: “We would like to send our very best wishes to all the new parents and their families.”
