Income tax scammers have reportedly been targeting people in Kent.

The fraudsters, who have been posing as employees of HM Revenue and Customs, are calling residents and telling them they owe income tax and must pay the money immediately.

People have been advised to be wary of unexpected calls and never disclose any information, such as bank details, over the telephone, no matter who the caller claims to be.
