It will become a centre for creative businesses

Gravesend’s indoor market is to get a £2 million makeover.

The Government is giving Gravesham Borough Council £1.8 million to transform the Borough Market into a centre for creative businesses.

The project is expected to benefit some 40 businesses and create around 35 jobs.

The cash is part of a £36 million package of funding to boost economic development in seaside towns across the country.

Coastal Communities Minister Penny Mordaunt said: “This money will help create jobs, boost skills and open up new business opportunities.”
