Gravesend found itself invaded with visitors from a long time ago in a galaxy far far away this week, as Storm Troopers set up in the town centre.

Characters from the new famous Star Wars franchise greeted members of the public on Monday (yesterday) as they promoted the new Star Wars film, The Force Awakens, which started showing at The Woodville today (Tuesday).

Showing at The Paul Greengrass Cinema at the theatre, the film will be running until January 16.

Theatre manager Mandy Hare said: “It was excellent fun watching people’s reactions to the Storm Troopers, provided by UK Garrison, it’s not every day that you see such characters walking down the high street.
