A DEBT-RIDDEN IT worker is accused of murdering a woman he met on a dating website and dumping her body in a suitcase in remote farmland.

South African Clinton Bailey, 36, already had a girlfriend when Filipino care worker Leah Questin, 37, answered his advert on Gumtree.

Three weeks into their relationship he strangled or suffocated her at his home and began draining her bank account of over £2,000, it was claimed at the Old Bailey.

On Monday jurors heard that Bailey allegedly dumped the decomposing body five days later.

The suitcase was spotted beside a small dried up pond close to Bucklands Farm on Buckland Road, near Cliffe.

Prosecutor Peter Wright QC said: 'It was padlocked and appeared to contain something. It had a distinct bulge and was attracting a considerable number of flies.

'There was a pungent smell which appeared to be coming from the suitcase.'

The body inside, contorted beside a number of air fresheners, was so badly decomposed it could not be identified until September 28, using dental records.

He then tried to cover up the killing by sending bogus text messages to her phone pretending he was missing her, jurors were told.

The trial continues.
