William Nutt denied the crime but was convicted by a jury

A man who sexually abused a four-year-old boy has been jailed for four years.

William Nutt, of Attlee Drive, Dartford, denied the offence, but was convicted by a jury of sexually assaulting a boy under 13 and jailed at Maidstone Crown Court.

The 55-year-old’s crimes came to light after the boy told his mother what had happened. Police found a pornographic magazine open in his living room when they went to his home to arrest him.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Anne-Marie McAteer said: “Nutt degraded and violated a defenceless child for his own gratification. “Fortunately, the boy told his mother what had happened and we were able to bring him to justice.”
