A MAN who performed an indecent act in front of a group of schoolchildren on a train has been jailed for a year.

Paul O’Connor sat down among the children, who were returning from a school trip, exposed himself and committed an indecent act.

But after several of the children reported what had happened to their parents, O’Connor, 31, of Bondfield Walk, Dartford, was identified through a media appeal.

The incident happened on the 2.05pm train from Aylesbury to Marylebone on June 10 last year and was captured on CCTV.

O’Connor admitted engaging in a sexual activity in the presence of a child at Amersham Crown Court and was jailed on Friday. He will also have to be on the sex offenders’ register for ten years.

Detective Inspector Chris Neeson said: “The incident must have been disturbing for these children.”
