Kent Police Authority chair Ann Barne resigns

PUBLISHED: 15:00 08 August 2012

The chair of the Kent Police Authority has resigned from the role after declaring herself a candidate for the Police and Crime Commissioner election in November.

Ann Barnes, who has held the position since 2005, will step down on Friday August 10.

She said: “It is now time for me to severe my ties with the Authority. The impartiality of both the KPA and the Force must be preserved at all costs in the run-up to the election.”
