Kent residents have slightly higher than average life expectancies

Kent residents, including those in Dartford and Gravesend, have a life expectancy slightly above the national average, according to newly released figures.

Office for National Statistic figures show male residents in the country are expected to live until 79.4 and women until 83.2, above the national number of 78.9 and 82.9 respectively.

In terms of health life expectancy, men are expected to have 63.6 good years and women 65.5, compared with the national figures of 63.2 and 64.2.

It relates to statistics collated between 2009 and 2011 in local authorities nationwide.
