Armed robbers threatened a shopkeeper with a knife this morning at around 9.20am at Tasnim General Store in Bath Street.

It is believed four black men, wearing black clothing and with nets covering their faces, pushed the victim out of sight of the security camera before threatening him and forcing him to give them his own phone and wallet. He suffered a head injury during the incident.

Investigating officer, Det Con Martin Carter, said: “This was a cowardly attack on a local business. The offenders were brazen enough to do this in broad daylight in a busy part of the town and it is lucky nobody was more seriously hurt.”
