The Magic of Christmas event was held on Saturday

Gravesend’s Community Square was filled with princesses and superheroes on Saturday, as Gravesham Borough Council put on the last of its Christmas events, the Magic of Christmas.

Arts workshops were put on through the day, while princesses paraded through the town singing Christmas Carols.

Children and adults alike were dressed up in costumes to celebrate throughout the day.

Leader of the council John Cubitt said: “Christmas is a time for giving and, for the third year, the council’s gift to everyone has been a fantastic festival of family fun.

“This year’s Christmas Every Day has been bigger than ever. Its offered a packed programme of events, with something for everybody.

“There have been smiles all round and the town seems to have been really busy, especially during the Fayre on the Square Christmas Market weekend.

“The community have been involved every step of the way, helping to organise many of the events such as Christmas On The Hill which saw hundreds of families gather together to make arts and crafts, see Father Christmas and even have a go at Ice Skating.

“My thanks go to all those who have joined with us at the council to help produce this vibrant and exciting programme.”
