When Sam and Sophie Warren’s grandmother died, the siblings decided they wanted to thank EllenorLions Hospice where she had spent her final moments.

So the brother and sister team from New Barn embarked on a six triathlon challenge that has raised more than £6,000.

While Sophie, 23, battled the streets of London in the Virgin-Active Triathlon, Sam, 26, embraced one of the most challenging races, the Helvellyn, which requires all competitors to carry a survival kit just in case.

Sophie said: “We could never say in words how much the hospice meant to use but we knew what we could do for other families.”
