Lorry driver pleads guilty to death by dangerous driving near Dartford Crossing

A lorry driver has pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving of a pensioner on the M25 near the Dartford Crossing.
Anton Maizen, 58, made the plea at Basildon Crown Court yesterday (July 25) and will be sentenced at the same court on August 30.
Ronald Moughton, 79, from Ilford, was killed on April 2 this year.
Maizen, from Wixhausen in Germany, pleaded guilty to three driving offences during a plea and case management hearing
He also pleaded guilty to two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Mr Moughton died at the scene which saw the clockwise motorway approaching the Dartford bridge closed at junction 30 near Lakeside shopping centre for nine hours.
The crash involved four lorries and six cars.
Maizen was arrested at the scene and has been remanded in custody since.
